Social Events for November

Gday all,

Happy Movember to everyone. Well, there’s sure to be a few sore heads and empty wallets around after the annual trip north to the Brisvegas & the Gabba. Its good to see your all made it back without anyone getting arrested. Good onya Hooter for orgainizing the trip up & thanks Barney for puttn your hand up to orgainize next years trip. Junior Shay was awarded best on tour & took out the Yellow Jersey, with strong performances from Hose & Ronnie Hooter Warburton and I’m sure countless others.

There are a few other bits and pieces going on around the club that we need you to keep in mind.

  • Barby @ Nuts & Ness’s joint. 24th Movember, everyone welcome, BYO meat & drinks.
  • Family Christmas party on 15th December @ KSS. We realise that there are a lot of work Christmas parties on this night to but if you could come along early, there will be a jumping castle for the kiddies and Santa Claus etc.
  • Christmas drinks for the grown ups will be on the 22nd, just at the Shawsy after cricket.
  • Dave Beck charity bowls night on January 12th at Ballina RSL Bowling Club. Three per team. 7pm start. Get your teams to Dunc asap on 0428 452 607 or elfco@bigpond.com. Please try to get as many people from outside the cricket club to join in as it’s all for charity. Lots of prizes, and of course lots of fun.
  • Kerry O’Keefe Spotsmans dinner on 2 February 2008 at Ballina RSL Bowling Club. This is our major fundraiser for the club so would appreciate lots of support from club members.
  • Girls night out will be on towards the end of the season, date yet to be advised.

On the park it has been a good start to the season, both teams are as yet undefeated. There has been some good performances from all the usual suspects, Bluey has had two five wicket hauls, as well as Pottsy with five wickets against Bangalow and of course Hooters first ton for the Bar. Keep it up for this week, 1st grade against Souths at KSS and 2nd grade against Byron at Byron.

Don’t forget about training each Tuesday 5 to 6.30pm.See you on the park.
